Google recently announced its latest search algorithm update [as of April 21, 2015], which now includes mobile-friendliness as a search ranking signal. What does this mean for you? Well basically, if your website is mobile-friendly or responsive, then you are good to go. But, if your website hasn’t been updated in the last couple of years, you might want to rethink a redesign.
Google is now using “mobile-friendly” websites as a determining factor in search rankings. As more people use mobile devices to access the internet, their search algorithms have to adapt to these pattern changes. In the past, they have made updates to ensure that websites are viewable on mobile devices, but they are now focusing on mobile-optimized websites to allow users to get more relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their device(s).
The bottom line is that if your website hasn’t been updated recently, then you will slowly get pushed down in search engine rankings. Not sure if your website is mobile-friendly? Google has created a tool to test your website or pages on your website to determine if you are mobile ready. Click here to test your website now >>
